DARTMOUTH -- Peter O. Schultz, age 67, of Dartmouth, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 30, 2006, after a long courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was the beloved husband of Gale (Baker) Schultz to whom he had been married for the past 45 years.
Born in New Bedford, he was a son of the late Adolph A., and Beatrice (Banks) Schultz, he had been a resident of Dartmouth for the past 42 years.
Mr. Schultz graduated from Moses Brown School in 1957 and Brown University in 1961 receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He was the owner and operator of the former Case Jewelers in New Bedford and Osterville before retiring in March.
A long time member of the Country Club of New Bedford, he was a three time winner of the August Fourball. An avid golfer, he never missed a round on Wednesdays. He was a great sports fan and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren's events. He was the current Co-Coordinator of CYO basketball for St. Julie's Parish. He was a member of the Dartmouth Recreation Commission from 1993 to the present and former DYAA and DGAL coach. His family was most important to him.
Surviving in addition to his wife: 1 Daughter "" Holly Schultz Wheaton and her husband, Michael T., of Dartmouth, MA; 2 Sons - Peter O. Schultz Jr., and his wife, Susan P. of West Chester, PA Christopher B. Schultz and his wife, Nancy of Doylestown, PA; 6 Grandchildren "" Amy, Lauren, and Jennifer Wheaton, all of Dartmouth, MA, Christopher and Katie Schultz, both of West Chester, PA and Nicholas Schultz of Doylestown, PA.
His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 2, 2006, at 10:00 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road Dartmouth. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 5-8 PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Myeloma Research, 10 Brookline Place, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
