Octavio Ureste Obituary
He worked as a security guard for 30 years. He served in the Marine Corps and enjoyed fishing and dancing. His friends knew him as "Cowboy."
Mr. Ureste was preceded in death by his father, Erasto T. Ureste.
He is survived by his son, Octavio Ureste Jr.; brother, Erasto E. Ureste; sisters, Esmeralda (Sergio) Sierra, Elda (Jimmie) McDaniel, Blanca Estela Ureste and Elizabeth Ann (Trave Rhodes); two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 6, from noon to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Erasto E. Ureste, Sergio Sierra, Octavio Ureste Jr., Samuel Alvarez, Erasto Ureste, Erasmo Ureste, Raul Atkinson Jr. and Reymundo Hernandez.

Dear Ureste family. I knew "Tavo" for as long as he was a security guard. As a fellow city employee, I would visit and chat with him when he would make his rounds or wherever he happened to be assigned. We would laugh together, tell stories and keep each other company since I too am in public service. He loved his family and country. I knew he was ill but I had no idea he had passed. Please accept my condolences and know that he is in my prayers.

Sorry for your loss, I remember Octavio from Russell Elem. Altough we went to seperate High Schools I'd see him around occassionally. Always was a nice guy with a great smile. Rest in Peace. Condolences to the family.
