MENDELL--Oliver M., December 11, 2012. Beloved husband of Shelley. Loving father of Steven, David and daughter-in-law Tiffany. Devoted grandfather of Lindsay, Michael and Lila. Brother of Olga and the late Edward. Oliver is a veteran of WWII and an alumnus of Washington & Lee University. He joined Chemical Bank in 1958 and retired as Senior Vice President from JP Morgan Chase in 2001. Oliver served as Chairman of the USO of Metropolitan New York, was a Director of the Fifth Avenue Association and also served on the Board of UJA Federation. He was actively involved in The Broadway Association and The Association for a Better New York, among others. Oliver was an avid golfer and will be missed by his friends and family. Friends may call Wednesday December 12th 5-7pm at Frank E. Campbell, 1076 Madison Ave. at 81st St. with a service following on Thursday at 11:30am at Frank E. Campbell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the USO, 1601 Broadway, NY, NY 10019 or The Prostate Cancer Foundation.

The passage of time does not erase the impact of his good deeds nor dim the memories of those who so admired him. He will always be Mr. Washington & Lee in the minds of many University alumni in Manhattan.

Our hearts go out to Shelley and all of
Ollie's family members. May God bless you and keep him in His arms. Ollie was Mister Washington and Lee for alumni of all ages in Manhattan...for
generations. He was loved and will be
missed by so many, many people and by the numerous causes he supported. I will always cherish his happy smile and the memory of his friendship.
