Dear Debbie, Paul, and Nancy,

I never think of your mother without remembering her at high school football games "having a Harnia," or hauling us all to Rocky Point, or coming at the drop of a hat to take care of my infant twins when I had the next baby. Life with my "second mom" was simply wonderful! My mother, also, thought the world of Ora Mae; when she and Uncle Kenny came to visit here in Gold Beach, it was the highlight of my mother's year.

Our thoughts are with you in this time. May the light that was Ora Mae on this earth always shine in the lives of all those she touched, whether or not they ever knew her.

All our love,

Dear Paul, Debbie and Nancy, I was so shocked to learn of your mom's passing. She was such a dynamo, always on the go and doing for others. She was a good and dear friend and I will always remember the Silver Bell good times, and later serving on the Marana Health Center Board under her auspices and very caring and enthusiastic ideas. May God Bless all of you at this most trying time and grant you comfort and peace for the difficult times ahead. Sincerely, Lee McConnaughey, Everest, Kansas

Ora Mae was definitely the "First Lady" of Marana! What an amazing woman!

I will always remember the kindness she always showed to me at Faith Community Church. I first met her almost 15 years ago and Pastor Bruce honored her for her many contributions. I grieve with you, not as someone without hope, but hope in seeing her again. Thank you for sharing your Mom.

She truly was the "Matriarch of Marana". The children, and grandchildren of Don and Audrey Hawkins (both deceased) send our prayers of comfort to Ora's familiy. My dad always said she was amazing, even when they disagreed...lol. She will be misses.

Ora Mae was dear to all of our hearts, especially us old timers from Marana. She was one of a kind. So charming that there was never a way to refuse her.
Our schools should teach our children to be like Ora Mae. Never quit. Never give up.
Rest in Peace Ora Mae

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Harn Family,

I knew and worked with Ora Mae for a number of years, particularly on planning for the use of some federal social services funds.

As others have said, she was very determined and hardworking. She also respected and listened to others and was diligent in preparing for service on the boards and committees on which she served.

I also know she was dedicated to her family and her community and did much to improve Marana and the surrounding area.

My deepest sympathies on your loss.

It was such fun to work with Ora Mae. She knew what she wanted and was also willing to listen to new ideas. Conversation was always lively! And I know she will be missed.

It was a true pleasure to have been able to take care of Mrs. Harn as a new nurse fresh out of nursing school 2 years ago. A very special lady that I will forever remember. My deepest condolences to her closest family and friends.

The whole town of Marana has benefited from having Ora Mae Harn guide it to becoming a better community. She was well regarded by many for her decisions that she made for the community, keeping the future in her sites.
I feel her story should be made available to many of the students in Marana schools, and to others, as an inspiration to what they also can contribute and achieve.
Ora Mae will be missed.

Dear Harn Family,

I had the privilege of working with Ora Mae on the Marana Arts Council. There was only one Ora Mae. The Lord saw no need to create a copy, because she was uniquely ORA MAE. Few of us will ever have our name transcend into a sheer Force of Nature. She had more ‘try’ in her tiny body than fifty people put together. When she tackled a problem it was “Katy bar the Door,” because “quit,” wasn’t in her vocabulary. Come ‘hell or high water,’ she envisioned Marana as it could and should be, often converting the loudest naysayers into staunch supporters in a twinkle of her eye. She had one eye on preserving Marana’s past, one eye on Marana’s future, while the present was dedicated to the work needed to realize both.

Would that more of us, citizens and town leaders alike, devoted as much time, energy, and ‘heart’ as Ora, to better our ‘worlds’ before leaving this life. Her legacy lives on in our hearts, in the Town, and hopefully in our dreams. I have no doubt that Ora Mae has God’s ear, and has big plans for Heaven.

My life has been enriched and inspired by knowing you. Thank you. God speed.

With deepest condolences to her family and friends,

Janice E. Mitich

Dear Harn Family,
I'm so saddened upon hearing of the passing of your Mother. She was such a fun-loving, kind woman. I will always remember her kindness to me and her amazing fried chicken! God bless you.
