Orleatha Scott-Walker Obituary

Orleatha Janice Scott-Walker, age 86, of Portage, IN passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016.


Orleatha was born on November 5, 1929 in Bradgate, Iowa.  She is survived by Ulie Leland Jr. (Pam) Scott, Bruce R. (Connie) Scott, Mona Haney-Parmley (David), Jeff (Sandy) Scott, and LaVonne (Ron) Ward; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ulie Leland Sr., on September 26, 1984. 


Orleatha was a member of the Pentecostals of South Lake Church in Merrillville where she was active in out reaching to the needy in the area.  Some of her favorite hobbies included baking for her family and friends and walking a daily two miles, but her favorite hobby was sewing; she was an accomplished seamstress. Her personality affected all those around her and brought smiles to so many faces. She was a good wife, a good mother, a good grandmother, and a good Christian; she will be missed by so many family and friends.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday morning directly at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM


Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Pentecostals of South Lake Church, 1640 W. 93rd Ave., Merrillville, IN 46410 with Orleatha’s son, Rev. Bruce R. Scott officiating.  Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.


Memorial donations may be given to the Pentecostals of South Lake Church.
