Oscar Ludwig Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 22, 2015.
Oscar Thomas Ludwig was born on Jan. 14, 2014, to Lee and Kate Ludwig. He came home to Henry, Grace and Laura, who welcomed him with love and kisses. Oscar loved music, dancing and watching his siblings run about. He enjoyed sitting in the warm sun outside and smelling the sweet breeze. Oscar has this calm, sweet contagious smile that we'll hold in our hearts forever. Oscar died peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in his family's arms at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Oscar is survived by his parents; three siblings; grandparents, Ron Ludwig and Chuck and Diane Ryan; aunts and uncles, Kari and Bill Shaleen, Abby and Ryan DeBonis, Matthew Ludwig, Patrick and Claire Ryan, Michelle and Jeff Matthees, Eric and Micayla Ryan, Nicole Ryan and Casey Ryan; cousins, Zach and Travis Shaleen, Kade and Jax DeBonis, Grant Ryan, Levi, Jacob and Lydia Matthees and Isaac Ryan.

He is welcomed into heaven by grandmother, Terri Ludwig; great-grandmothers, Grace Cole and Lila Ludwig; great-grandfathers, William Gadient, Sr. and Charles Ryan, Sr.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Goodhue, with the Rev. Regina Hassanally officiating. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, May 25, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials in Oscar's memory to the Down Syndrome Association, Ronald McDonald House or the church.
