OSCAR SHEFSKY

I worked with Oscar in the mid 1970's in Memphis. I was always fascinated by his stories and general knowledge. I recall he said his family name was originally Shubashefsky but his father shortened it when they came to the States. I am sorry he is no longer with us. I just saw the news in the Tennessee Engineer magazine

Only got to meet Oscar once when he and Darlene were here in California. Gene and I were also married 51 years and he was 80 years old 4 years ago this month when he passed.

Oscar was a very unusual person he always had a good word and a smiling face even when his illness worsened. He really took care of me when I would come to visit from California. May he rest in peace.

We enjoyed Oscar's company, including his helpfulness and humor. He will be missed, most of all for his kindness. Our shared sorrow is surpassed by our pleasure in knowing he was a bright example of what we want every human 2be.
