KATZ--Otto. Born in Borken, Germany in 1922 to Moritz and Clara Rothschild Katz, died February 10, 2017 at his home in Yonkers, New York. Beloved and devoted husband of the late Edith Alexander Katz for 61 years. Loving brother of Hal and Kate Katz, Ilse and Herbert Goldsmith, Henny and Werner Neuburger, and the late Marcel and Helene Alexander. Wonderful father and grandfather to Steve Katz and Susie Freidus Katz, Rory, Andrew and Carly Katz, and Judy Katz and Dean Solomon, Gretchen Solomon and Joseph Power, Martin Solomon and Alana Berman-Gnivecki. Honest and righteous Jewish man. Former shipping clerk and President of Custom Bed Covers. Longtime volunteer at the Physical Therapy Department of the Allen Pavillion. Awesome bridge player. Loyal and loving uncle, cousin and friend to many. Great teller of jokes that cannot be repeated. Gifts in his memory can be sent to the Edith and Otto Scholarship Fund at University at Albany.
