We came into Oak and Jean's world late in life, for both of us, when we moved in two doors down several years ago. It wasn't long before we learned what great neighbors and first class people they were. Early on we were invited to enjoy his music and a glass of wine. On another occasion, to join them for dinner at The Vikings. Later, he invited our musician grandson to join him with his violin; the musical duet serenaded Jean! She asked Ezekiel if he would teach her to play the violin...at 90!!! That didn't happen, but Ezekiel, a US Naval reservist and WWII history buff, was fascinated to learn of Oak's military experiences. All in all, a brief but very rewarding relationship for us.

Just seeing this news. What a wonderful, talented and funny man Oak was. We met him through my mother and knew that any gathering that included Oak and Jeanne was going to be a fun one. What a loving team they made~together again. Hope your wonderful memories bring you great comfort.

What a wonderful couple. Unfortunately, for us, we only met them a few short years ago when we moved into the neighborhood two doors down. Enough time for us to learn to appreciate them for the loving couple they were and now, once again, are. Our twenty-something, violin/fiddle playing grandson got to play together, sharing their love for music from different genres. Jean wanted to learn the violin! We'll miss them as neighbors and dear friends.

Jeanne and Oak were great friends of my parents (Fenton/Margaret Dorais) and therefore became our friends. What a loving, joyful couple.

Oak was a talented musician, who my husband & I met at one of Lorrie Ornelas' Jazz parties. I've also heard him play at the Book Nook in Montague. He was such a nice man!

Oak and Jeanne are sorely missed on the West Michigan dance floors by many, including my wife, Jane Ruiter and me. What a great dry sense of humor he had!!
