On 13th February 2013, Peter died peacefully with the love and support of his family and the care of the staff of Trinity Hospice. Beloved husband of Berny, loving dad of Helen and Matthew and wonderful grandad of his boys, Ben, Tom, Noah and Alfie. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. Requiem Mass and Celebration of Peter's life to be celebrated at St. Kentigern's Catholic Church, Newton Drive, Blackpool on Friday, 22nd February, at 11.15am followed by committal at Lytham Park Crematorium at 1.30pm. At Peter's own request please wear bright colours if you wish. Family flowers only please, donations if desired may be sent to Trinity Hospice c/o the Funeral Director, David Pope, Lytham Funeral Service Ltd. 42 Clifton Street, Lytham FY8 5EW. Tel. 733909

A Fine Head, a fine man
What a sad loss. Peter McCarthy was such an encouragement to me, never imposing wisdom, but sharing it - always helpful and inspiring. I will always be grateful to him. May his soul rest in joy and peace.

A great man to work with and for!
Peter was an inspirational and lovely man to have known and work for. He cared for his staff and their families and always wanted the best for them and his students. I'm glad and honoured to have known him, may he rest in peace.

Wondeful Headteacher
Mr Mc Carthy was a wonderful Headteacher who would always join in the fun and was game for a laugh,he was always smiling unless you were in trouble!!!
