pamela hickley commissioned me to paint her old house as a memory before she moved to her new house..
2 paintings were hung outside on the patio where she normally has her breakfast.. she often fed the birds her papaya
she had daily.. at the old house.. and birds use to
greet her in the mornings.
.... I use to start quite early
to record the house in oil paints...
through her interior designer Amanda richardson.
and she willed me back 2 paintings which I did for her.. i use to visit her quite often for tea.. and thoroughly enjoyed her regal character and each appointment was very memorable.. lorna The Maid was extremely helpful to make all the appointments .. I shall remember both of them..
at the old house at Stevens road and the new house...after it was refurbished.. I remember so clearly ..a few items she made me deliver some paintings to the alliance franchise from the old house and some old Red Cross things to the Red Cross.. she is very clear in all her actions..and she had a very clear mind.. my last visit with her was in 2016
I knew she was very frail then.. and it was quite an effort for her to dress.. I brought another old person of then 89 years of age to visit her.. because I realised how wonderful pamela could take care of herself .. her independent attitude and finally she was quite happy and contented... her role in this world and dealings with other people.. I am so glad to have met her.. learnt a lot how to behave as a true English person living in the tropics... there is an album.. of the parties held in the gardens i wish it would go to the national archives of Singapore... if anybody has that album.. please scan and send to Singapore to our national archives of Singapore.
thank you

Pam was my Aunt. Lorna and I have so many happy memories of the time we have spent together with her and Frank, though spread out over the years. Verdi's Requiem with Giulini, Jesus Christ Superstar and a rude play at the Savoy.Amazing unique hilarious. Pam was able and willing to take on anything and enjoy it. In her company one always felt that problems had dissolved and the way was made smooth by her selfless generosity. Memories, even the smallest of them will be treasured by our family.
