Pamela Hollenbeck Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 25, 2018.
Pamela Mae Hollenbeck (Formerly, Gehling) (Nee, Lodde), May 24, 1944-July 16, 2018.
Pam passed away into the loving arms of Jesus.
She is survived by devoted and loving husband, Erwin Hollenbeck; sons: Brian Gehling, Kenneth Gehling; and by stepdaughters, Debbie Egloff (Mark) and Vickie Hollenbeck; Pam's Gehling grandchildren include, Matthew, Kateri, Timothy and Amy Gehling; her Hollenbeck grandchildren include: Kaylin, Benjamin, Casey, Kelly and Cody; and great-grandchildren, Connor, Dylan, and Hayden. She is preceded in death by parents, Albert L. Lodde Jr., and Roberta Mae Lodde; sisters, Donna Dreyfus and Barbara Huntington; former husband, Bruce P. Gehling; and grandbaby, Emily Gehling. She is further survived, as well as preceded in death by many, many dear friends and extended family.
Pam was born in Milwaukee, WI and grew up in Greendale and Hales Corners, WI. She graduated Whitnall H.S. in 1962, and married Bruce Gehling in August 1962 (divorced 1991) and they raised their family in Muskego, WI.
Pam was a great mom, and the soul who held the large, extended Gehling family together. After many years of being a stay-at-home mom, insurance sales called to her in her early 30's. She excelled as an agent because of her caring and friendly nature. Her business was built solely on reputation and personal referrals.
Pam later met the love of her life, Erv Hollenbeck in Waukesha WI. They moved to Sun City West, AZ, where they were married on Nov. 28,1992, surrounded by close friends and family. Pam and Erv enjoyed the company of many wonderful friends and neighbors while living in Sun City West.
Pam never met a stranger and she loved being with people. Right to her last day on earth, she had a smile for everyone. She loved bowling, playing cards, and many other social activities. Everyone who knew Pam loved her for how genuine, kind, and fun-spirited she was. Pam lived a good life, filled with people who loved her.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Shepard of the Hills United Methodist Church located at 13658 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West, AZ. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Shepard of the Hills United Methodist Church. Luncheon to follow services.

As you remember your love one, as God heals your broken hearts (Psalm 147:3), may your treasured memories continue to bring you peace, comfort, and strength to endure.

I loved my mom. No one ever knew me better or loved me more. When the disease began to take its toll years ago, we had a great conversation about making sure nothing was left unsaid or left open. That was a gift. My mom recognizing me at the very end of her life was a gift, too. I was blessed to have her as my mom, and I know I will see her again, soon.
