Pamela Hixon Keith, 54; of GreenwoodA service of remembering and celebration for Pamela Hixon Keith, 54, of Greenwood, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Carmel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. A service will also be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at DePauw Memorial United Methodist Church in New Albany, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at her home, surrounded by loving family and friends. Her life was well lived as a witness to God’s grace and love. She was very active in her church, St. Mark’ s United Methodist Church in Carmel where singing in the choir was an important part of sharing her God given gift of music. She was a virtual assistant and built her own successful business, Pamela Hixon Keith Virtual Assistant (PHKVA, LLC) assisting a variety of clients across the country. She previously worked as a legal assistant at the Frank and Kraft Attorneys at Law. Before moving to Greenwood in 2002 she was the manager of contracts for Teletron Corporation of Bloomington. From 1991 until 2001 she was an assistant to the vice-president for client services at Irwin Management Company in Columbus. From 1988 to 1991 she served as assistant to the president of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. Foundation, Jeffersonville. She was a 1976 graduate of Indiana University School of Business. Among her achievements she was a Certified Professional Secretary. She was a leader in a number of church activities including the areas of finance, worship and development events. She served as Lay Director of the Walk to Emmaus Community in Columbus, and Worship and Song Leader at Sandy Hook United Methodist Church, Columbus. She played handbells, was a cellist, and vocal soloist for several choirs and musical events. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, The Rev. J. William Keith, Jr.; her mother, Evelyn Townsend Hixon, New Albany; and brother, Kenneth C. Hixon Jr., New Albany.She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth C. Hixon Sr. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Mark’s UMC, 4780 East 126th Street, Carmel, IN. 46033 or DePauw Memorial United Methodist Church, 925 Vincennes Street, 47150-3146. Arrangements by Seabrook, Dieckmann, and Naville Funeral Homes.
