It is with great sadness that the family of Pamela Jean Short announce her passing. Pam passed away on May 13, 2024, in Baldwin, MI at 55 years old. She was born on July 16, 1968 in Michigan.

Pam had a big heart and was known for being a country girl. She had an unforgettable spirit, and she will be deeply missed by her surviving family members: sisters; Teresa Ann Latta of Kalamazoo, MI, Destiny Wiersema of Irons, MI and Patricia Morehouse of Kalamazoo, MI, brothers; Clayton Wiersema of Irons, MI, Robert Wilson (Kim) of Bitely, MI, and children; Joe Melson of Mattawan, MI, Chenelle (Meghan) Blocker of Detroit, MI, Eddie Lee Williams Jr of Kalamazoo, MI, Ikeca Hull (Joseph) of Sheridan, IN, and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Gene Stanfill, father Clayton Lee Short, and her sisters Julie Marie Short and Debra Lynn Short, and brothers Bobby Short and Clayton Short Jr.

A celebration of Pamela's life took place in Parchment, Michigan, on May 31, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Michigan Opioid Partnership Fund at https://cfsem.org/initiative/opioid/michigan-opioid-partnership-fund/

The funeral arrangements were handled by Verdun Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Baldwin, MI.

My first memory was when I was 17, I had gotten a double ear infection and was really sick. Pam came and signed papers right away so I could get medicine, and nursed me back to health.
