The impossible accrued To me to figure out what mental illness is about! Dr. Pamela Sklar's, job was to help one get un struck. The breakthrough comes from the understanding of the attack which follows the struck. What a journey to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I am a mental health consumer, and I met Dr. Pamela Sklar at the 2016 New York Brain & Behavior Research Symposium.

Her vision in terms of brain science was compelling to say the least. At the event I gave Dr. Sklar my book entitled, "A Consumer's Journey To Mental Health Recovery", written by me, Beverly A. Johnson. She read my book and was very enthusiastic, and who would have thought; she actually invited me to meet with her in her office.

Then Dr. Sklar invited me for a second time to discuss my book some more! I was so moved and humble to be in her presence, and highly impressed.

From our encounter I felt that I could possibly do something for humankind as well.

Rest in peace Dr. Pamela Sklar. Even though your passing was untimely, I was very fortunate to have met you, and your work was and still is a major contribution to the betterment of humanity.
