Pasquale Gispert (August 4, 1946 - August 31, 2024)

Pat, Gismo, Scooter, Gizzy, Popi

Pat Gispert's life was a remarkable story... His father's family migrated through Spain and spent a generation in Cuba before moving to America. His mother's family left a candy-making business in Italy to seek a better life in the U.S. Pat was born in Tampa, Florida. It wasn't long before his family relocated to Hialeah, Florida where he shined shoes at the racetrack as a young boy and later parked cars for spending money as a college student. Pat proudly recounted his humble beginnings to most everyone he met.

At the age of five, Pat fell in love with football. Physically a small person, he earned MVP of his Hialeah High School football team before "walking on" at the University of Tampa where he earned a full scholarship. This proved to be a turning point, resulting in an illustrious four years of college football and a B.S degree in Business Administration.

"Mr. Friendly" was Pat's high school superlative, which transferred to him being a natural salesman. Positivity, grit, and determination were his persona. After a few years working for Hess Oil Co., he became restless and moved into a better opportunity with Lanier Business Products. The salesman became the sales supervisor, then the sales manager, and finally the regional manager of the year. His 33 year career was highlighted by a final promotion to Vice President of Dealer Operations.

He met the love of his life Peggy Linn Booth in 1970 in Orlando, Florida. After marriage, they moved to Tampa and their family became complete with the birth of their sons Patrick and Parker. Peggy and Pat were a match made in heaven, and last year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Paris.

Pat's passions were golfing, University of Miami Football, touring with his son's band as a devoted fan, eating with his breakfast / lunch buddies, and most importantly, traveling to California to enjoy his grandchildren.

Pat is survived by his wife Peggy Linn Gispert, their sons Patrick and Parker, two grandchildren Rosalia and namesake Pasquale, his two nephews Todd and Keith, and his many cousins and in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network ( pancan.org ).

A service to honor and celebrate Pat's life will be held at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, October 9th, at Mt. Pisgah Church, 2850 Old Alabama Rd, Johns Creek, Georgia 30022 with a reception to follow at Horseshoe Bend Country Club. There will be a visitation preceding the service at 10:00 AM at Mt. Pisgah Church.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Emory Hospital nurses, doctors, therapists, and caregivers who cared for Pat these past few months. Also, thank you to all our friends and family who gave us support and love throughout this challenging time.

My deepest condolences to Peggy and family. May you find peace in all the great memories you have made. I used to spend summers with Aunt Mary in Hialeah (my dad Jimmy Russo´s sister). Manuel and Pat were always in and out very involved in their community. I am grateful for the happiness Pat found in his family.
Much Love Cousin Laura Russo

Cousin Pat, I was saddened to hear of your passing last night from Cousin Laura Russo.

As I reminisce about you, I recall some wonderful times we had. You and Manual are my oldest cousins. We were born in Tampa, you and I only 5 five years apart. We all moved to Southeast Florida at different times ending up only a few miles apart.

I fondly remember those Sundays in Tampa at Uncle Frank and Aunt Annie´s house. Our large Italian and Cuban family having Sunday spaghetti dinners. The old folks sitting in the kitchen talking, laughing and arguing in a mix of languages. And all of us playing outside having a great time.

You didn´t know it, but you have always been my role model and I always looked up to you. I was so proud you were my older cousin.

We shared many things, like our Grandfather´s and Uncle´s first name Pasquale. We both shorten our names, you to Pat and I to Tony so there was no conflicts in the 50s.

While you went on to play sports throughout high school and college, I played Little League baseball, Optimist football and one year high school football.

Your Mom & Dad gave Danelle and me a wonderful wedding reception in 1972 (the Dolphin´s perfect season) at your house in Hialeah, 52 years ago. I always enjoyed seeing all yours and Manny´s trophies in the living room with the plastic on all the furniture (LOL).

As the years passed we kept in touch, sometimes meeting in Tampa and other times over phone calls. We often spoke about our families and business.

I enjoyed talking with you about our grandson Kael Alexander, a high school quarterback. You were always so excited to hear about his stats. Today Kael is a sophomore quarterback at Stetson University. I so hoped you would´ve seen him play.

Cousin, I love and miss you so very much. I know you´re in a better place now. Bye for now until we meet again....

Pasquale was one of my favorite cousins! I have fond memories of watching football games at Tampa U, he and team members coming to our house to enjoy spaghetti my father cooked. He was always a cheerful, enjoyable guy. He will be missed

It would be hard to find a more thoughtful, kinder, funnier and interesting man than Pat Gispert. I had the good fortune of being a neighbor and friend of Pat's for the past 26 years. I always looked forward to our "Cartier Ct. chats". Whether it was to laugh about all the craziness spewing out of Washington DC or how to fix whatever happened to be ailing the Braves at that particular time....or a host of other topics, Pat always had a funny and interesting opinion. RIP, Friend.

My memories of him are very vague. As I am the youngest of the Gispert 1st cousins. But I do remember my momma, his Aunt Elva always called him the Rhinestone Cowboy. She swore he looked like Glenn Campbell. Last time I saw him was at my Godfather, his father's funeral. My condolences go out to Peggy, Patrick, Parker and family.

I knew Pat from Hialeah High School. He was a member of our "all Italian" defensive backfield in 1962. After reading his biography & condolences, I'm sorry to say I didn't know him very well and lost contact after high school. I remember him as an excellent athlete and good person. I thank God for the time I knew him. My condolences to his family and rest in peace Pat...

I will miss Pat. I had known Pat for years while I worked for Lanier in the Tampa Bay Area. I really got to know him when he became an area vice president and I reported directly to him. I really enjoyed working for and with Pat. He was always fair and straightforward. I remember he liked to take walks after lunch or breakfast (his Raisin Bran and a banana). It was during those walks I really got to know Pat he was always talking about Peggy and the boys. I remember he and Peggy and the boys came to visit us in San Francisco. Pat asked Parker to show us a little dance he created little did we know we were watching a star. Pat was devoted to Peggy Patrick and Parker. It was a privilege to know Pat he will be missed by many of us. RIP my friend

I was deeply saddened to hear of Pat's passing. I had the privilege of working for Pat at Lanier, and he left an indelible mark on my career and life. He wasn't just a great leader, but a genuine and caring person. Pat taught me valuable lessons about leadership, perseverance, and the importance of always putting people first. His positivity and determination were infectious, and I feel fortunate to have known him. My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Gispert family during this difficult time. Pat will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire all of us who had the honor of working with him.

Pat was his own man was a great fun to be around. He didn't let the small stuff get in his way. I got to speak with him 2 months before he passed. He remembered he owed me a dollar from one of numerous golf games. That says it all. Gonna miss his laugh.

Our heart felt and sincere condolences for Peggy, Patrick, Parker and family. Pat will always be remembered for his humor, competitiveness and pursuit of excellence in everything he attempted.

I had the privilege to introduce Pat to the sport of golf, which he fell in loved with and played for years.

One of my fondest memories with Pat was attending the 1996 Masters where we followed Nicholas and witnessed several records being made that day, then obtained his autograph following his victory.

Pat was a great guy, devoted husband and father, and... true friend.

Pat will be missed by many.

Always a great time at the Gispert house when Pat was in the kitchen making his favorite pork roast meal. I was happy to be his sou chef and enjoy all his stories and wonderful laughter. Miss you already.
