Met on the set of the Karate Kid II. He said you look pretty fit would you like to do a little fight scene, I said yes and we became friends.
He told me you are pretty quick but watch yourself, my guys were not happy getting pushed around on that vegetable truck. I asked him if I should let them push me off the truck ? He said just do what the director (John Avildson) says, he ended up saying good job Al do it again. So I did lol
Pat was always kind and caring with all his stunt guys.
He was a very special person ! Was out of touch for awhile with Lou Gehrigs (ALS) then with a miracle I had a remission but was told that is not how that disease works so they said it was probably a misdiagnoses, I would like to think Pats good attitude and great encouragement in all possible ways and to not give up, Helped me overcome sickness and adversity. Thank you Sensei Pat Johnson (& Director Avildson who has also passed) on starting me in the movie industry. Mahalo and much Love and respect Al F.

Mr. Johnson was working for Mr. Norris when I met him in the early 70's. I was a student in the Sherman Oaks School on Ventura Blvd. He was an incredible coach and athlete. The attached photo is one taken in the Northern San Fernado Valley after one of many weekly work out session, which Mr. Johnson coordinated. I was saddened to learn of his passing and honored to have known him as Kyo Bum Nim; and friend. Jim Wakefield, National Tang Soo Do Congress #109.

Coach Johnson - Thank you for being the Mighty Might Football Coach for
the Chatsworth Chiefs. He brought a level of discipline and self respect in a positive non-critical way, really knew how to help focus a group of boy's into a unified team with purpose. That was sixth grade and I still reflect on his teaching as 58 yr old man. God Bless Coach Johnson and his family.

My condolences to the Johnson family. I first met Mr. Pat Johnson at the Battle of Atlanta Karate tournament in the early 90s when I was a teenager. Throughout my tournament career I could always count on Mr. Johnson to give me positive and truthful feedback. He was honest and humble and always took the time to answer questions. I loved hearing him talk about his peers in the Martial Art's and in film, when I'd asked him. Mr. Johnson thank you for everything you've given and done for the martial arts community. My martial arts Hero may you Rest in Peace.
