RAFFERTY PAT JOHN Donaghmore
Pat John's wife Mary, son Conor, daughters Eilish (O'Brien), Susan and Maeve, Aunt Bridie (McCloskey), brothers James (USA), Hugh, sisters Esther (Dunne), Sarah (Donaghy), Martha (Lawrenson), Rachel (Gillen), and extended family, wish to thank all those who offered sympathy and support during our recent sad bereavement. Friends and neighbours - your practical help has been invaluable. Your visits during PJ's illness were sensitive and comforting, and helped our family through a difficult time. Thanks to everyone who gave their time so freely and spontaneously at the wake and afterwards, to all those who called and offered condolences and to those who stood with us at the funeral. We offer our thanks to all whose efforts made the ceremony so uplifting and special - the altar servers, sacristan, the readers, Mrs Patricia Corrigan the organist together with the parish choir, St. Colmcille's GFC Carrickmore who formed a guard of honour at the funeral, the con-celebrating clergy and gravedigger (Brian). A special thanks to Fr. Mc Aleer for his spiritual guidance throughout and his inspiring eulogy - a fitting tribute to the memory of Pat John. We thank those who sent Mass cards, flowers, letters of condolence, and donated to MacMillan cancer support. Thanks to Paudge Quinn for his sensitive handling of the funeral arrangements and the staff at the Crannon Inn for the excellent lunch after the funeral. We thank G.P. Dr John Mc Kay, the teams of doctors, and nurses in CAH, and CHB, the MacMillan, Marie Curie, District Nurses and carers, the staff at Newry Hospice and the ever helpful staff at Medicare Dungannon.
Grateful thanks to the representatives of the various historical, educational, and cultural organizations of which Pat John was an active member and valuable contributor, including Donaghmore Historical Society, the Carleton Summer School, Carrickmore St. Colmcille's GFC, Duiche Neill, and Dungannon District Council special projects - all of whom are experiencing the passing of Pat John. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually we trust that that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our gratitude.
Pat John's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 28th May at 7.30 pm in St. Patrick's Church, Donaghmore.
