Patricia Baldwin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 13 to Feb. 14, 2010.
Patricia Ann Baldwin, age 63, of Kennewick, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, in Kennewick, Wash., after a long battle with breast cancer. Pat was born Oct. 2, 1946, in Joplin, Mo., to Orville and Roseanna Hogan. She met the love of her life, John Baldwin, at Joplin High School where she graduated in 1964. They were married on June 11, 1966. After their marriage they moved to Omaha, Neb., where she received a B.A. in accounting from University of Nebraska in 1969. Upon graduation, she was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, accountant's honorary fraternity; and president of Phi Chi Theta, women's business fraternity. Pat received her MBA in 1980, from University of Pittsburgh, and worked as a regional accounting coordinator, until moving to Kennewick in 1992. Pat was a wonderful wife and mother and great cook. Until a series of health problems resulted in her disability she was an active person that enjoyed skiing, breeding and showing West Highland White Terriers and riding her motorcycle. Later as an artist, Pat enjoyed drawing, painting, quilting and rubber stamping just to name a few. Pat had written her first fantasy/science fiction novel, The Journey, to be published at a later date. Pat was also active in the West Highlands United Methodist Church, the Tri-City Cancer Guild and the Bearysweet Sixth Avenue Stamp Club. Pat is survived by her husband, John; her son, Jason Baldwin, of Wake Forest, N.C.; her daughter, Brenda Baldwin, of Benton City, Wash.; and her Westie, Joey. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Brown, of Fredericktown, Mo. Patricia had many friends, her personality and smile would always light up the room and her 20 year fight for a quality life was an inspiration. Her generosity knew no bounds and she will truly be missed.
