Patricia A. Benedetto, age 76, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of, Sergeant Leonard A. Benedetto, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, after fighting a long and courageous battle with ALS, all while keeping a smile on her face. Born in Bridgeport, Patricia was the daughter to the late Harry and Bertha Staron France and was a long time resident of Fairfield, prior to moving to Bridgeport more recently. She enjoyed playing Pinochle and Scrabble. Patricia loved to entertain and was the life of the party. She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and teaching them how to bake, especially her famous pumpkin pie. In addition to her devoted husband, Sergeant Leonard A. Benedetto, of 54 years, Patricia is survived by two sons, Anthony Benedetto, of Monroe, and Christopher Benedetto, and his wife, Paola, of Shelton; a daughter, Doreen Poruban, and her husband, Lee, of Stratford; seven grandchildren, Anthony Benedetto, Jr., Matthew Benedetto, Nicole Benedetto, Alyssa Poruban, Jessica Poruban, Kassie Poruban, and Angelo Benedetto; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Diane Benedetto, a brother, Raymond France, and a sister, Dolores Drapp. Patricia's family would like to thank the team at Connecticut Hospice for their care and compassion during her illness, including Janet, and Amanda. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 4-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 10 AM DIRECTLY at St. Thomas Church, Fairfield. Her interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Fairfield.
