Patricia Ann Cronk

Patricia "Patty" Ann (Porter) Cronk went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, after losing a long brave battle with cancer. Patty was born in Tipton, Indiana on November 5th 1955 to Robert and Evelyn Porter. Her family then moved to Wilkinson Indiana where she remained a lifelong resident. Patty graduated from Eastern Hancock High School in 1974 where she was in the National Honor Society among other clubs and activities. She went on to graduate from Ball State University in 1978 with a degree in elementary education. She later went on to obtain her masters degree in education from Ball State as well. She returned to Eastern Hancock School Corporation where she taught fourth and fifth grade until her retirement after 30 years of service. Patty married LeRoy A. Cronk in June of 1978 and remained his devoted wife and best friend until her passing. Patty was a long time member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ where at various times she taught Sunday school, served in the nursery, and taught vacation Bible School. Patty was preceded in death by her father Robert Porter, and is survived by her mother Evelyn (Shelton) Taylor of Shirley, Indiana. Patty was a dedicated and supportive mother to her 2 children Sarah E (Matthew) Wilfley of Cumberland and Erik R. Cronk also of Wilkinson and a very proud loving grandmother to her only grandchild Brooklyn Wilfley. She is also survived by her brother Michael C. (Ann) Porter of Elkart, Indiana and 2 nieces, 5 nephews 2 great nieces and 4 great nephews. The visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wilkinson Church of Christ and the Celebration of her life will be on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Wilkinson Church of Christ. Patty has requested that rather than flowers that contribution's be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Condo & Son Funeral Home Wilkinson.
