Patricia Crowley

Patricia Crowley, the film and television actress whose warmth and wit lit up screens for six decades, died Sunday, September 14, 2025, of natural causes in Los Angeles. She was 91.

Born September 17, 1933, in Olyphant, Pennsylvania, Crowley moved to New York as a teenager and made an early mark on Broadway. She soon transitioned to film and television, launching a prolific career that spanned more than 100 screen credits.

In 1954, Crowley received the Golden Globe for New Star of the Year, cited for 1953 performances in the films "Forever Female" and "Money from Home." That early recognition foretold a lifetime of memorable work opposite such stars as Ginger Rogers, William Holden, Dean Martin, and Jerry Lewis.

Television made Crowley a household name. From 1965 to 1967, she starred as newspaper writer and mother Joan Nash in the NBC sitcom "Please Don't Eat the Daisies." Crowley later appeared as Emily Fallmont in "Dynasty," and she worked steadily across decades with roles on "The Twilight Zone," "Columbo," "The Love Boat," "Murder, She Wrote," "Frasier," and the daytime dramas "Generations" and "Port Charles."

Though she was best known for her TV work, her film résumé was also varied, including "There's Always Tomorrow," "Hollywood or Bust," "Key Witness," and "The Wheeler Dealers." Her final film role came in 2012's "Mont Reve."
