Patricia Ann D’Itri

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister Patricia Ann D'Itri (Trish), of Silver Lake (Mears), Michigan. Trish died on April 12, 2024, at age 64, after a courageous and difficult battle with breast cancer.

Trish graduated from Michigan State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. While working full time for the State of Michigan as a Certified Public Accountant, she enrolled in law school, graduating cum laude from Thomas M Cooley Law School in 1998. She passed the Michigan State Bar shortly thereafter on her first attempt. Using her CPA and JD, Trish worked for the State of Michigan Department of Transportation as an Auditing Specialist for 32 years, retiring in 2022.

Trish enjoyed Harry Potter, television and movies, after-Christmas sales (especially chocolate!), handcrafted gifts and whimsical tchotchkes. She was always willing to give of her time and expertise, especially with her family and friends. Trish's daughter, Sydney Morgan D'Itri Bollinger, was her true pride and joy. She loved Sydney with every fiber of her being and was a fiercely protective mother. Trish was strong, hardworking and smart, but her most defining quality was her deep kindness and sense of fun. She was always one to love large and gift big; living (and dying) on her own terms.

She is survived by her daughter, Sydney Morgan D'Itri Bollinger, brother Michael Payne D'Itri (Suzanne) and sisters Angela D'Itri Wylie (Michael) and Julie Lynn D'Itri. Trish was a fun and loving aunt to nephew Jason Payne D'Itri and nieces Jessica Catherine D'Itri (Eric Giesberg) and Melissa Wylie Brackmann (Eric); and cousin to a close-knit clan of Italian cousins: Matt Chapel, Dennis D'Itri and Chris Chapel. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank Michael and Patricia Ward D'Itri.

Private services will be held by the family at a future date. In lieu of flowers, Trish asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
