Douglas, Patricia J. 73 Sept. 27, 1939 Feb. 05, 2013 Patricia J. Douglas, 73, a resident of the Hillsboro community, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, 2013, at her home. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held. Patricia Jeanne Douglas was born on Sept. 27, 1939 in Coats, Kan., the daughter of the late Claire and Pearl (Haney) Coe. She was raised in the Coats community until the age of 13, when the family moved to Salem. Patricia graduated from South Salem High School in 1957. Following high school, Patricia attended Willamette University for a short time before transferring to the University of Arizona, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education. She later went on to receive her Ph.D. from Colorado State University, and then worked as a Principle consultant in Training and Education at IBM for 16 years until she retired in 2005. Patricia was united in marriage to William "Bill" Hemmert on June 28, 2007 at their home in Hillsboro. Patricia and Bill celebrated over five wonderful years of marriage together. Patricia is survived by her husband; her children and their spouses, Tricia Douglas and Trenton Scott of Tualatin, Robert and Kelly Douglas of Hillsboro and Barry Hemmert of Colorado Springs, Colo. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Brennan and Eileen Douglas. During her life, Patricia brought great happiness and joy to her friends and family. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren. Her love for those she held close continues to be felt, but her presence will be sorely missed. The family suggests that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Hillsboro High School Band Boosters, c/o Geoff Fotland, 3285 Rood Bridge Road, Hillsboro, OR 97123, in Patricia's memory.
