Patricia Enright Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 12 to Nov. 13, 2022.
Patricia Ann O'Brien Enright of Calumet City, IL, passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 19th, 2022 after a battle with cancer. Daughter of the late James and Bettie (nee Davis) O'Brien. She is survived by her husband Tim, sons Kyle (Tracy) and Collin, grandson Michael, siblings Linda (Rodger) Metcalfe, Mike (late Tina) O'Brien, Maureen (Steve) Tillota, Mary (Dale) Mitchell, John (Tina) O'Brien, and Kim (late Kevin) O'Neill. Sisters-in-law: Patty (Dan) Maycunich, Jill Enright (late Bill Mullaney), Carole (Nabil) Gassem, Laurie (Brian) Fitzgerald, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat retired from Hoover-Schrum School District #157 in 2020 after 21 years of service, and was very grateful to have had the opportunity to make an impact on the lives of many children.

Pat loved competing at scrabble and other word games. She went skiing in winter and took long walks and bike rides in summer. There were many nights spent rolling the bones with the Bunco Girls and of course her monthly dinners with the High School Girls. She cherished all opportunities to spend time with her grandson Michael. As a property owner at Oak Run (Spoon Lake) in Dahinda, Illinois, Pat spent over 30 summers at her camper in Campers Village with her family and friends. She enjoyed many activities such as boating and fishing, cooking out, sitting around the campfire looking at the stars, golfing, riding on the cart trails, the beach, and all the group activities such as fish fry's, live music, and bingo nights.

Pat, you were a loving wife, a best friend, and a loving mother. Your ability to laugh with us all and at yourself was infectious. You will be missed tremendously beautiful lady. We will carry in our hearts all the wonderful time we were graced with your presence.

There will be a "Memorial Mass" for Pat on November 19th, 2022 at 10:00am.

Location: Our Lady of Knock Church, 501 163rd Street, Calumet City, Illinois 60409

We Have So Much To Be Thankful For
We would like to express our sincere appreciation for all the support we have received during this most difficult time.
The outpouring of cards, letters, donations, pictures, gifts, food for the Memorial Mass or maybe just a memory shared was a tribute to Pat that we will cherish forever.
Thank You All,
Tim Kyle Collin

When i think of Pat, i picture her smirky smile and her rolling her eyes as she reacts to something Tim said or did. We would look at each other and smile knowing that we were in agreement. As others have said, I always loved her comebacks and how she could laugh at her own wise cracks (a necessity when the Enrights are together). But as she wrote in our family reunion book in 2010, Tim is the person who makes her laugh the most!! I am Tim´s youngest sister and when he and Pat had not been together too long, they had the job of being my parent figures. It could not have been easy taking on a teenager when you were in your early 20s! Tim was and still is the protective big brother and I love that about him. Pat let him do the parenting - smart move on her part!! And even with those challenges, I have no memory of Pat ever raising her voice. She has always been easy going and fun to be around and I speak for my husband and daughters when I say that she will be missed terribly at our Enright events. I feel so thankful that I had three days with her at Oak Run in September - we ate great food, played scrabble, sat around the fire at night, and even shared a margarita!! I will miss you terrible!! Rest in peace, Pat!! I love you!! Laurie

As I sit here looking at this picture once again, my memories of my little sister keep coming. Always smiling, always at peace with herself and the world, loving wife, loving mother, loving grandma who will be forever missed. Her nose always in a book as we were growing up ... laughing so hard at her elephant jokes - sitting back taking it all it. Pat, you´re legacy lives on in Tim´s memories of his loving wife, Kyle and Collin´s memories of a caring and loving mother, Tracy´s memories of a woman who loved her as her own daughter and Michael´s memories of a grandma who loved him with all her heart and soul. I have no words to express the pain and sorrow we are all feeling right now but know that you are at peace and free of pain and looking out for all of us. Sister love never dies ... it is forever and you will be forever in my heart. Until we meet again ... love, Linda

I was just thinking that Pat has been in my life for as long as she has known Tim. In all these years, she is the one family member who I´ve never argued with! She was so easy-going. That infectious smile and giggle of hers was just the best. A very kind and generous spirit. Like so many others, I will miss her very much but she will always be here in spirit. I wish I could write all the wonderful things we experienced but that would take a book. Pat, I love you. Rest peacefully and I´ll see you on the other side. Love, love, love, Jill (Enright)
