PATRICIA ANN GAINES

Patricia Ann Williams Gaines, age 67, transitioned from labor to her reward at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus on Friday, October 27, 2023. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of Marrero, LA. “Ms Pat”, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was a graduate of Lincoln High School and a former custodian at John Ehret High School. She was the Matriarch of her family and loved to cook and entertain. Her favorite enjoyment was shopping, especially for Christmas and Birthdays. She was very athletic and loved to play the game of baseball. She had a big heart that was reflected in her big, beautiful smile. Beloved wife of over 43 years to Herbert Gaines. Devoted mother of Leshawna (Christopher) Johnson, Leonoria (Quinnton) Nash, and India (Draymond) Christoff. Loving grandmother of Christiana Johnson, Laila Williams, Najai Williams, Christopher Johnson II, and Draya Christoff. Daughter of the late Etienne, Sr. and Virgin Mary Williams. Sister of Barbara Ann Williams, Barbara Loraine (Gregory) Williams, Larry Williams, Sr., and the late Toms “TJ” James, Etienne “Shorty” Jr., Donald “Duckie” Lee, and Stanley “Bill” Williams, Sr. Aunt of the late Al Darnell Williams, Sr. Also cherishing her memories are 7 nephews, 11 nieces, 5 sisters-in-law 2 brothers-in-law and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of New Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to the Celebration of Life at New Zion Baptist Church, 1131 Garden Road, Marrero, LA on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
