Patricia A. Griffith

Patricia A. Griffith, 71, of 11899 Thurston Road, Meadville, passed away Monday, July 13, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center.Patricia was born in Meadville on May 14, 1938, a daughter of the late Tesla Dickson and A. Lucille Ross Dickson Companio. On March 6, 1961, Patricia married Rex D. Griffith; he survives.She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Meadville.In 2000, Patricia retired from the Meadville Area Recreation Complex, where she had been employed since 1976. She previously had worked at the former Johnny's Drive Inn, as manager of the former Big Wurts and the Campus Cove. She was a 1956 graduate of Linesville High School.Patricia loved to sew and enjoyed quilting and flowers.In addition to her husband, Rex, of 48 years, Patricia is survived by a daughter, Kerry S. Risco and her husband, Carlos E., of Meadville; two grandchildren, Carlos A. and Juan E. Risco of Meadville; a sister, Nancy Zamoff and her husband, Richard, of Washington, D.C.; three half sisters, Kathy Deslavrier of Texas, Rosemary McCoy and her husband, Richard, of Conneaut Lake, and Terry Herendeen of Meadville; two stepsisters, Martha Smith of Conneaut, Ohio, and Joyce Whitley of LaGrange, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Dickson; and a stepbrother Joseph Companio Jr.Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where the funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Timothy M.
