Patricia Ann McNair Hardbeck - SAVANNAH - After a long courageous fight with cancer, Patricia Ann McNair Hardbeck, 62, of Savannah, Georgia, wife of Jim Hardbeck, died Wednesday morning, September 16, 2009, at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah. Her husband Jim was by her side at the time. Born in Whiteville, North Carolina, on August 22, 1947. She was a daughter of Ralph and Connie Plyler McNair. After graduating from high school she attended college at Kings College in Charlotte, North Carolina. She then worked as a secretary for Thompson's Orphanage in Charlotte. It was in Charlotte that she met her future husband Jim. Pat and Jim were married in Bad Tolz, Germany in January 1969. Thereafter, she went with Jim wherever the Army sent him, including Germany, Ft Bragg, Los Angeles, Ft Rucker, Al, Ft. Campbell, Ky, and finally Hunter AAF in Savannah. She had a long and distinguished career working at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital for the past 28 years as an administrative assistant in the Risk Management Office. She was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church and was an associate of the Sisters of Mercy. Pat always had a smile for you. She had a good heart and a generous soul. She was someone you would not soon forget. She was preceded in death by her father Ralph. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jim, son Christopher, daughter-in-law Sheri, grandson Evan, granddaughters Ansley and Avery, sisters Cheri and Laura, brother Bobby, and mother Connie Singletary. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11 o'clock Friday morning at White Bluff United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning in White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
