Dear Steve and Family,
Though we do not know your parents, we believe they are very special people because of you and your family. With a son like you, how could they not be special. You all are in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. May God bless and comfort you in your loss.

Visiting with you, Artis, and Fred at the class reunion was a highlight. His great sense of humor and courage were remarkable. You were a loving caring wife and set an example for all of us. Carole and Earl McCain

My thoughts and prayers will be with your family during this difficult time. When we lose someone we love it does not mean they are not with you anymore, you just have to find them in a different way. Fred's spirit is still here and in your heart's. Embrace it; you will always have that. God Bless. Phyllis and Sean Teumer

Fred will always be loved and missed. He inspired me a lot because not matter what came his way, it never slowed him down. He accomplished so much in his life, and he never gave up. He never wanted to be treated differently because of his condition, and found ways around his wheechair, letting us kids ride the wheelchair with him. He was the kind of person who never wanted attention, special treatment, or anyone to worry about him.
To my aunt Artis,I am deeply sorry for your loss, and everyone's loss. You were each other's rock, and held each other up. When times were rough, both you and Fred endured it together. We were so lucky to have him for almost 20 years longer than what we thought during his amputation. I love you, and am here for you.
I love you, Fred. I already miss you. We will see each other again. I wish you didn't have to go,but at least you are not suffering, and you can be in peace. God is taking care of you, and I am happy that He has given you the chance to finally walk again. I love you, Rest In Peace.
Love,
Rebecca

Dear Artis and family,
I went to school with Fred and graduatefd with him in l958. We were also neighbors to him and Artis when we all had our first houses in Broadview. We shared many good times together He never gave up after all he went thru, he even finished his basement. We have so much respect for him and will never forget him, we loved him like a brother. He is at peace now and we will all be together someday. God Bless, Carolyn & Jim Huskey and family

Artis & family, Elma, Mindy & Arnie, It go's without saying you were without dought the very best neighbors we ever had. We watched the boys grow into men, and watched Mindy become a lovely lady. We thought so much of Mindy Sue, our little girl 'became' Mindy Mae. While we have not seen Fredie for a number of years, we ofter thought of him and of course all the rest of you wonderful people.
You are all in our hearts and prayers and your loss is our loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. Fred was an inspiration to all who knew him. His love of life, family and his lord should be a lesson to all of us. He will be missed by many. However we know that he now walks with Jesus.

Artis-I'm not sure if you remember me. I visited and prayed with Fred when he was going through all of his operations and amputations. I was a single BK amputatee then, but have recently become a double amputee. Fred was then, and always was, a real inspirition to me. He made me realize that having or not having legs does not define a person. He enjoyed life and was so in love with you{and you in him}.He was a real hero to me and has always been in my heart and his desire to keep going no matter what has helped me to continue to live life to the fullest. Earth has lost a wonderful man but heaven has gained a true saint. My heartfelt sympanthy to you and your family.Mary Ellen Rathbun,Evans,CO. 330-4623

I have known Fred since elementary school. We graduated in 1958 at GHS. We will miss him at our class birthday party in October. He was a good man and will be missed by many people. I am thinking of all of you and will remember you in my prayers. God's blessings.
