I have a small piece of her with us - a beautiful white paper angel which she had made many years ago and which holds a special place among our traditional Christmas decoration. It was shortly after arriving in Calgary in 1979 and teaming up with Peter in the City Planning Department that I met Pat. My first reaction was "WOW"! "What a ball of energy! What a live wire! What boundless gusto! It's people like this that make life fun and interesting." The memories Pat leaves us are endearing and indelible. Even now, at this time of such sadness, I can't help but smile when I think of Pat in a crowd, in her prime, talking up a storm, laughing at life's oddities and galvanizing those around her. Pat, thank you for being you. You elevated many lives and you will be greatly, greatly missed.
