Patricia McPherson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 22, 2023.
Patricia Ann McPherson, known to her loved ones as Pat, passed away on November 16, 2023, at the age of 88, in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born on January 26, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Edmund J. Burke and Ruth (Comins) Burke. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard E. McPherson, and their son Richard E. McPherson Jr.

Patricia was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend. She had a warm and radiant smile that brightened the lives of those around her. She found joy in teaching crafts to her grandchildren and spending quality time with her family. Patricia's love for decorating and planning parties made holidays even more special for her loved ones. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching football and golf on TV. Sewing was another passion that Patricia inherited from her mother, Ruth. She often used her talent as a seamstress to help out her neighbors and friends, whether it was fixing a small tear or creating whole outfits. Patricia even had the opportunity to model her creations at local fashion shows.

Patricia is survived by her children: Patty McPherson (Ron Campbel), Joanne Calabro (Paul), Kathy Williams (Larry), and Michael McPherson. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Paul Calabro, Michael Calabro (Nicolette), Ryan McPherson, Andy McPherson (Jessica), Brendan Williams, Aubrey Williams, and Celine McPherson. She is also survived by her siblings: Maureen Young, Edmund Burke Jr, and Barbara Johns.

Patricia received her primary education at Christ The King Catholic School in Amherst, New York. She then attended Holy Angels Academy in Buffalo, New York, for high school. Patricia continued her higher education at Rosary Hill College in Amherst, New York.

Throughout her career, Patricia worked as a Computer Data Entry Clerk for JC Penny. Her dedication and attention to detail made her an invaluable member of the team.

After her retirement, Patricia and husband
Richard moved from their home in Williamsville, NY to Florida and resided in Clearwater and then purchased a home in Holiday. In 2019 she moved to Lafayette, IN to be closer to her daughter Kathy.

A devote Catholic, Patricia worshipped at St Leo the Great Church in Amherst, NY and then was a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul CC in Holiday, FL. Her faith was an important aspect of her life and provided her with strength and guidance.

In her free time, Patricia indulged in various hobbies, including sewing, crafting, painting, and ceramics. These creative outlets allowed her to express herself and bring beauty into the world.

A celebration of Patricia's life and the interment of her and husband Richard's ashes will take place in Buffalo, New York, sometime in the Spring of 2024. Details regarding the ceremony will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Patricia's memory to Franciscan Hospice Care in Lafayette, Indiana, or to OLVCharities.org.

Patricia Ann McPherson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kind and loving spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
