Patricia (Pat) Thérèse (née Campbell) Nymberg, 93, of Cincinnati, OH passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on October 5, 2022. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years Jerome (Jerry) H. Nymberg Jr. and their six children: Dr. Jerome (Jane) Nymberg, III, Timothy (Patricia) Nymberg, Daniel (Diane) Nymberg, Dr. Thomas Nymberg, Susan (Dr. Kerry) Crone and Michael (the late Michelle) Nymberg. She was a devoted grandmother to Elizabeth, Stephen, Douglas (Chloe), Jeffrey (Adrienne), Gregory, Daniel, David (Allison), Kathleen (Seth), Paul, Jonathan, Caroline, Yodeet, Kaleb, William, Thomas, James (Krystal), Kevin, and Kelly and great grandmother to Brooks, Joseph, Lily, Elijah, Jackson and Cayden. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Pat was born on August 2, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the only surviving child of the late Robert and Ruth (née Hardy) Campbell. She credited her indominable spirit and strong spiritual devotion to her parents and her stepmother, Alice (née Wilke) Campbell, who lovingly helped raise her after the death of Pat's mother. She attended the University of Detroit where she met the love of her life, Jerry, while pursuing her degree in Secretarial Science. They married in 1955 after Jerry completed his military service as a naval pilot. Their deep and enduring love was rooted in the Catholic faith and grew in strength and commitment throughout their 67 years of marriage. Pat, an only child, became a devoted mother of six and shared her insight, support, sense of adventure, and unconditional love with each of them. Pat's lifelong commitment to serve her family, friends, and community was shaped by her devotion to her patron saint and namesake, St. Thérèse of Lisieux ("The Little Flower"). She was active in the parish communities as a lector at St. Simon Church and as the first female usher at St. Antoninus Church. An avid reader and skilled writer, she passed on to her children her passion for literature, fine arts, music, and travel. Pat enjoyed all of life's adventures, including trips abroad with Jerry, where she put her aptitude for languages and her ability to connect with anyone to use. Her cheerful smile, brilliant blue eyes, gentle nature, and outgoing personality drew people to her. Her greatest pleasures in life were meeting new people, spending time with old friends, and doting on her 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Pat was a generous supporter of Catholic education, including the Jerome H. and Patricia T. Nymberg Scholarship Fund at Elder High School, where all five of her sons attended school. Visitation at St. Antoninus Church, 1500 Linneman Road, on Tuesday October 18, 2022 from 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263 or the Jerome H. and Patricia T. Nymberg Scholarship Fund at Elder High School, 3900 Vincent Ave. Cincinnati, Ohio 45205 (513-921-3422 or [email protected]), www.bjmeyer.com
