Patricia Ortiz Obituary
Born March 17, 1953, to Ignacio "Nacho" and Mary Paz Vela, Patricia lived her life and raised her family in Waco. Always full of love and compassion, she leaves behind a rich legacy of kindness for others, an open heart for those in need, and her strength of mind and spirit that is most apparent in her grandchildren, whom she took so much pride and pleasure in helping to raise.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Vela; and grandmother, Soledad "Momma Chole" Garcia, whom she lovingly spoke of and has now been joyfully reunited with.
The family members she leaves behind to honor her memory include her father, Ignacio "Nacho" Vela, Uncle Lloyd Vela; Uncle Cruz and wife, Pauline Garcia; Aunt Betty and husband, Manuel Pate–a; sister, Doloris and husband, Henry Prieto; brothers, Cruz and Margie Vela, and Ruben Vela; son, Christopher Ortiz; son, Jesus and Teresa Ortiz and their children, Elizabeth, Patricia Rose, Antonio, Miguel; son, Isaac and Kerry Ortiz and their children, Christopher, Jaymes, Isaac Reign, Samuel and Raven "Michelle" Gonzalez; daughter, Soledad and David Urrabazo and their children, Dominic, Tifany, Eric, Julian, Lia, and Patrik; son, Sebestian Ortiz; daughter, Rosalinda and Michael Blunk and their children, Zachary and wife, Liz, and Brittany; and great-granddaughter, Layla.
Pallbearers will be Jesus R. Ortiz, Isaac R. Ortiz, Sebestian A. Ortiz, Jason Cruz Vela, Anthony Cruz Vela, Dominic X. Urrabazo, Eric M. Urrabazo, and Christopher M. Ortiz.
Her commitment to those she loved is superseded only by the love that everyone shares for her. As we try to carry on without her and the sound of her laughter, everyone will always remember her smile and say, "We Love You, Momma Pat."

For all of Pat's family...it saddens my heart to read of her passing. She will continue to live in your hearts because of all the memories you have shared. How time gets away from all of us...I went to South Junior High with Pat and only saw her one time after that...she had just become a mom; she was happy.
