Patricia (Patsy) Warnick Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 19, 2024.
Patricia (Patsy) Ann Warnick, of Lubbock, Texas, age 79, sweetly entered into the arms of her beloved Savior on August 13, 2024, in Dallas, Texas with her devoted daughter Kimberly by her side holding her hand. She was born May 25, 1945, in Ft. Worth, Texas. At the tender age of 3 days old she was adopted by Ersal and Helen Cain and her life became a testament to the love and joy that family can bring. Raised in Amarillo, Texas, she graduated from Tascosa High School and went on to earn her degree in Communications and Advertising from Texas Tech University. Patsy's vibrant personality and heartfelt sincerity were evident in all she did. As an affectionate teacher for Midland's KMID-TV Romper Room, she delighted children with her charm and care. Her creative talents shone through as a talented jingle writer also for KMID-TV. However, it was her 25-year tenure in the Office of Governmental Relations at Texas Tech University, where she served with unwavering passion and dedication, that she truly loved. Patsy's life was deeply enriched by her faith. She was a devoted member of the Lakeridge Methodist Women's Group and Prayer Team, where she expressed God's love through her actions and witnessed to others with grace and authenticity. Her commitment to her faith and her community was a guiding light and legacy for all who knew her.

Patsy is survived by her beloved daughter, Kimberly Warnick, as well as her sister-in-law Beverly Cain (Jack Cain), and nieces Cathy Taylor (Todd), Chris Kumler (Clarke), Courtney Bridges (Mondo), and Carrie Foster. Her great-nephews and great-nieces include Cain Kumler, Callie Haddock (Davis), Crosbie Kumler, Carson Luster (Caelin), Carrington Bridges, Camp Bridges, Kennedy Foster, and Alex Foster and great-great nephew Hugh Haddock (ETA December 25, 2024). She is also survived by her former husband Bill Warnick (Susan) and former-in-laws Tom Warnick (Karen). Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Ersal and Helen Cain; her brother, Jack Cain; her nephew, Todd Warnick; and her beloved dogs Tanner and Oscar, as well as her granddog Charlie Warnick. Patsy's love for her dear friends at Lakeridge Methodist Church and Brookdale Senior Living is a love without end. On behalf of her family, an extension of gratitude for the wonderful care, compassion and attentiveness provided to Patsy and Kimberly during her brief stage of illness to Covenant Stroke Center, the UMC Cancer Team and Trinity Hospice. A memorial service for Patsy will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024, 10:30 am at Lakeridge Methodist Church, 4701 82nd Street, Lubbock, Texas 79424

Patsy, was very special to me. She was my first girlfriend in high school in Amarillo. She was an eighth grader and I was in the ninth grade. We remained friends over the years. We were neighbors in Olsen Park. I was in a bad motor scooter accident and was home bound. She came to visit me almost everyday after school. She was always so kind and helpful. I am sad to hear the news of her leaving us.
