Long time Livermore resident, Patricia (Pat) Wilma (Keenan) Poore passed away the morning of May 4th, 2024. She was born on April 9, 1939, in
Great Falls, Montana. She was an only child, born to Wilma Elizabeth (Schubert) Keenan and Earl Edwin Keenan. Her family moved from Montana and settled in
Henderson, Nevada in 1942. Patricia grew up and attended school there. She attended Stephens College in Missouri in 1957-59, where she got her AA degree. She then attended the University of Arizona, where she graduated with her teaching degree in 1961. She later got her Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of California, Merced.
At the University of Arizona, she met Wendell Alfred Johnson and they were married. In 1962, they moved to Livermore where Wendell got a job working at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory as an Electrical Engineer. They bought a house, and began a family with their three daughters. They divorced in 1970. Patricia began teaching for the Livermore Joint Unified School District and taught there for almost 30 years. She taught elementary school at Green School, Christensen, Sonoma, Rancho Las Positas, and Joe Mitchell. She was a favorite teacher of her students and parents.
In 1977, Patricia married the love of her life, Kenneth Dale Poore. They celebrated their union at a gloriously green St. Patrick's Day wedding ceremony, on March 17th, with family and friends. And yes, the bride was Irish and wore green.
Patricia was active in her community. She was a member of the local Antique Club for over 50 years. She was involved with Bible Study Fellowship and Community Bible Study for many years. She was part of a wonderful group of friends who called themselves the James Ladies. They did Bible Study together for over 20 years. Patricia also served at Sunset Community Church.
Patricia said she lived a fulfilling life, blessed by her Lord Jesus Christ, her husband Ken, her family and friends, and her cats. She loved family gatherings and attending her grand-children's and great-grandchildren's birthday parties, sporting events, and dance recitals. She enjoyed life and loved spending time in her yard.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Poore, her daughters, Cathleen Tennyson (Michael), Terrilynn Watkins (John), Kristin Johnson, and her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Tennyson, Holli Peel (Michael), Bethany Renzi (Barron), Cierra Richardson (Mitch), Kristianna Toma (Sam), Catelyn Pasut (Daryl), Hannah Tennyson, Johnathan Van Dusen (Brianna), Kaylee Gomez (Josue), Karina Johnson, and her adored 14 great-grandchildren, Isabella Tennyson, Brayden Tennyson, Caleb Pasut, Gavin Pasut, Camryn Pasut, Harper Pasut, Micah Peel, Braelynn Renzi, Blake Renzi, Beau Renzi, Cash Richardson, Kennedy Richardson, Payton Billheimer, Emma Toma, and Anthony Gomez, and her closest cousins, Mary Galusha (David) and Joanie Neagal (Derald). She was dearly loved and will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Sunset Community Church in Livermore, at 2200 Arroyo Road, on June 22nd, at 2 pm.
