Patty and I walked to grammar school, then to high school together everyday. The walk went quickly, Patty and I talking the whole way. We lived a couple of houses away from each other and spent many hours together in our youth busing to dancing lessons, bicycling around. She was a delightfully high quality person to be with: bright and beautiful. Then after high school we lost touch. We renewed our friendship during high school reunions a few years back and it felt good to be in contact with her once again and her husband Bob. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to visit our brave Patty in the hospital and was impressed with her cheerfullness and warmth. She endured her illness and hospital stay gracefully with Bob at her side. My life is fuller having had Patty in it.

I will always have fond memories of Pat and her wonderful reminiscences of teaching, married life and your travels (adventures?) together. It's no surprise that Lollypop Farm would be so close to her heart. Take care, Carolene B

Bob, Never met Pat, but always remember how kindly you spoke of her, and how much she loved her work at Empire State College, when I was working for you at Kodak.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am one of those students who had the extreme good fortune to have Pat as a mentor. We began our work together during a very difficult time in my own life. She quickly became my most remarkable person, educating me not only scholastically but personally. I knew she was quite smart, and I would complain about my slow brain. She would say, "No! You have a GOOD brain!" I found this quite flattering, coming from such a great mind. Very clever, too, as it made me want to learn that much more. Pat loved my cat and dog stories; we shared many of them. After my graduation, when life began to turn around, she was still cheering me on. I am very proud that she and her kind, sweet husband made our wedding day extra special, and that we still kept in touch after all these years. It is an honor to be listed as one of your survivors, my dear teacher and friend. Please hold Yogi, Lancer, E.J. and Chelsea for me until I hug you all. You are always in my heart, Professor. Bob, Pat truly loved you and spoke so dearly of you to us nurses while we cared for her. She was a real fighter and a person whom will stay with me having niched out a nook in my memories.
