Patricia Smith Obituary
Patricia E. Smith, 89, of Moline, passed away Sunday December 25, 2023.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday January 2, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Pat was born on October 13, 1934, in Abingdon, Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd and Marie (Edmonson) Watkins. She married Bernard Eugene Smith on April 9, 1955, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1996. Pat was a member of both the Moline American Legion and Moline VFW Auxiliary. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Pat loved shopping and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include her daughters, Patty (Ed) Haskins, West Des Moines, Iowa, Susan Smith, Urbandale, Iowa; son-in-law, Rick Clapp, Orion; significant other, Jim “Joe” Joseph, Moline; grandchildren, Sarah (Nate) Heinrich, Andrea (Steve) Larson, Connor Drahos, Max Smith Drahos (Molly Close), Caleb Horvath, Jordan Horvath; great grandchildren, Mia & Sam Heinrich and Drew & Kate Larson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jane Clapp; son, Robert “Bob” E. Smith.
