Bernice, a thousand thanks for your lovely note. There is a poem by Maya Angelou called "When Great Trees Fall". It perfectly describes what your mom meant to me and all of the many people whose lives she touched. If you have trouble locating the poem, let me know and I will find the link for you. Peace to you and all of your family.

Mrs. Somers' compassion and concern got me through grade school. She taught by example how to live a valued life in service and kindness to others.

Pat Somers will always have a special place in my heart. She scrubbed my infected thumb when I was a second-grader and soothed my teenage anguish as a high sophomore. I am so sorry for your loss.

Pat Somers was a dear family friend. My mother, Ora Mae Harn, loved working with Pat and talked about her constantly. She will be missed. You have lost her presence but you will never lose the memories she created.

I had the privilege to work with Pat at the Marana Health Center from 1974-1978. What a wonderful medical provider to the community and such a great Mom to her children. I remember going on a "home visit" with Pat to check on a young pregnant patient near Redrock. Wound up assisting Pat in delivering a baby that morning! My favorite story told by Pat was when she went on another "home visit" to check on an elderly patient. She was met at the front gate by three old "toothless" dogs that "gummed her legs" as she proceeded to enter the house. My memories of Pat will remain with me always. RIP Pat Somers. God bless. Thank you Pat... for all you taught me in the four years I worked with you. My prayers and condolences to the family.

My thoughts and prayers to the family. Mrs. Somers was a very special person who cared so very much for the students at Marana as well as the community. I have very fond memories of her and the family as do many from the Marana area and Silver Bell. You all were very special neighbors to my Grandmother - Ruby Hitt for many years. May God comfort you all during this difficult time.

I will always remember her warm smile and compassionate eyes. She always looked at me like she knew me and always had a kind word. She truly did good in this world and it showed in her son, Dale, whom is the only other person I ever knew in her family. My condolence to her family.

Pat was a compassionate nurse and wonderful woman. I grew up with her as our school nurse and owed her more than I could ever thank her for. My sincere condolences to her family.

Mrs. Somers took care of my kids many times and it was usually in the middle of the night at her house.

Pat was a wonderful person and helped so many people. I would often get a call from her to transport someone to university hospital because there was no ambulance. It was a small clinic at that time. she will definitely be with the Lord.
