It was just 7th grade-2022. He was my homeroom teacher. As always, I walk in with a smile or "Hey coach!" and sit down before the bell rung to begin class. However, without him smiling back or a "Hey!" he just sits there and continued rummaging through his desk. Suddenly, he calls me over 2 minutes before sitting down, "Grace!" Unusual I thought. I walk over to his desk, "Yes sir?" He looked stern and said, "Sign your name here." Without question I do. "You're not going to ask why?" he smiled. "No sir." I responded. He chuckled and proceeded," You can ask why." "Why then?" I stood there while I just finished writing my signature. He grabs the blank sheet of paper with the small name on it. He then said," Because one day this will be worth more than a fortune. After that half court winning shot last night, girl. You are going somewhere. And I'll already have the signature of THE Grace Chawki before anyone else. I wanna see you in the big leagues one day." I smiled throughout it all. "Thank you coach."

Keeping the Armand family in my thoughts and prayers. Coach Armand's legacy at Clearwood Jr. High will be recognized and celebrated for years to come. He was loved by his students and will be sorely missed by his coworkers. Even in the short amount of time I got to know him, I could clearly see his passion for working with students and the compassion he showed consistently. GO COUGARS!!!

Patrick was one of the best teachers and coaches I ever worked with. He was always there to help out I. The halls or on the playground. But most importantly he was a roll model and held the students to a high standard. It was an honor to know and work with him. May he be coaching the heavenly team above.
