Patrick Henri Bolton

I met Patrick thru the USTA Mentoring Program earlier this year and after our first phone call, I remember thinking this guy will be a very good official. He wanted to be the best official that he could be. We spent many hours talking about rules and regulations, match scenarios and of course many anecdotes. I will miss ypu my friend. Rest in Peace

Here are some fabulous pictures of Patrick - always smiling - often eating - and ready for a great outdoor experience - and I was lucky to share many with him. Whitewater rafting, chasing llamas, Pikes Peak and more. I miss you.

One of our trips started of with many scouts eating at one particular fast food restaurant and many getting disastrous GI issues in the middle of the National Forrest.

Forever after, Patrick always defended this chain - and I always was quick to send him new stories of health issues - as well as let him know about all of the special sales they had. We always had a great laugh about that weekend.

I first met Patrick as our group of scouts came together to go to Philmont, early in 2018. We instantly became friends and continued hiking long after our trip out west, throughout Covid times (there's probably video of us breaking in the Dauphin Island Sanctuary while it was closed to the public) - and walking 3 miles every week.

Patrick served on the Board of Directors for National Association of Catholic Chaplains which is where I first met him. I later was privileged to serve in Spiritual Care/Mission with Patrick within the Trinity Health System where Patrick was known as a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain who brought creativity and generosity to his ministry. His sincere care for participants and colleagues emanated from his very being and was powerfully evident in how he listened to those entrusted to his care. I offer my prayers for his family, friends, and colleagues.

Patrick was a dear friend in Christ. We worked together as USTA/ITA officials, and I admired his determination to be the best official he could be. His spirit will live through those of us who remember him as we serve the USTA/ITA on the tennis courts.
I remember working with him last year in Niceville and when we had a rain delay, he insisted that I join him on a walk in the neighborhood. My little legs had to work hard to keep up with his long legs, but it was worth the effort. He loved the outdoors and his meditation time was a regular part of his days. When I recently moved back to Huntsville, AL, he told me we would go for a hike the next time he is in Huntsville. For that reason, I gave a donation to the Huntsville Land Trust hiking trails, in memory of Patrick. I will thank him for sharing his love of God, passion for tennis, and dedication to friends and family as I hike those trails. I encourage everyone to donate something in memory of Patrick Bolton as we carry on his legacy of giving.

Patrick was a kind soul. He was so kind to resident and staff at McAuley Place. Every year he would have blessing of the hands for the staff. Thank you for your service.

I will miss Patrick my dear friend of 28 years tremendously. He loved St Francis with all his heart and emulated him in his caring and compassionate manner. Patrick taught me to look up and love Gods beauty especially in nature. He was a true outdoors man. Patrick never wavered from his faith in God or His teachings even when going through hardships. The stress he so graciously endured the last 2 years of his short life was heartbreaking.
I will miss his sense of humor, laugh and big hugs. A gentle giant who will be remembered always and sorely missed. Rest in Peace my dear Friend

We are getting ready this morning to serve lunch at Mercy life in honor of Patrick. The photo is from last year`s Mercy Day celebration. it´s just like Patrick to think of all his coworkers. This was his last request for me received in early Aug. He called the day after his diagnosis to apologize for not attending our fundraising event that night for an anti-human trafficking program. Today, Sister Marilyn Graf, Zippy Doll and Mark Moberg will join us in honor of Patrick. Genuinely compassionate, unbearably missed and deeply loved!!!

Patrick was a kind, sweet, gentle man who will be deeply missed in the tennis community and by the tennis officials.
We are praying for Gods peace and comfort for the family.

We had lots of conversations concerning tennis. He told me once he planned to be the oldest singles player to enter a USTA tournament. I wished him luck and to take care of his knees cause they go first. The community will truly miss him.

I remember Patrick playing kickball with us little kids in the neighborhood cul de sac which we called "the circle." We would always go knock on his door and ask him to play with us and I can´t remember a time that he ever said no; he was always so nice to us. Those are some of my favorite childhood memories. May you rest in peace.

Patrick was my friend. I will miss him. Oh how he loved his Catholic faith, his family, his work, nature and all of life. One of God´s chosen ones, he was a blessing in my life.

He came to a seminar I did.

I met Patrick through you, Margie, when he sponsored you in the RCIA at Our Savior. I knew immediately that he was an exceptional man -- compassionate, funny and holy. Even though we have not seen each other in years, I am holding you and all of his family in prayer and sending my love from Kentucky.

Growing up next door he was always someone I looked up to. As odd a memory as this may be, what has stuck with me for all these years is that he taught me when cutting grass to always overlap with each pass. Often when I mow the yard that thought pops into my head. Peace be with you Patrick.

I worked with Patrick at Mercy Medical when I was the social work director and he was the chaplains' director. His sense of humor was unmatched, as was his sincere faith and his Christ-like compassion. It was an honor to work with him in that spiritual place, and I'll always be grateful for his friendship and grace.

He is a great person and a good tennis buddy. I am so sorry and heartbroken. Rest in peace my friend. So long, Paul

Remembering Patrick a true friend and kind soul. I´m still reeling from the news of Patrick´s passing. My heart goes out to his family and all those whose lives he touched. Patrick and I shared unforgettable memories at St. Mary´s school and beyond into our high school years at Lee High School. His kindness ,warmth, and genuine interest in others made him a beloved friend to many. What stands out most in my mind was the invaluable advice Patrick shared with me during our high school days. His insight and guidance helped shape my career path and I will always cherish that. Patrick embodied the true meaning of kindness , compassion, and empathy. He had a heart of gold always willing to lend a listening ear or offer support. Rest in peace dear Patrick your legacy lives on through the countless lives you´ve touched including mine. You´ll never be forgotten.

Patrick had a zest for life and was never too stodgy to have fun, even to laugh at himself. I am honored to call him "friend" and blessed to have known him for the short time I did.
