Im very late to this, but Mr D, you were my favorite teacher, and taught me that it was ok to help others, but I need to make sure to take care of myself. You also helped me through a very frightening and embarrassing time...thank you

mr. d, i had to laugh at the obituary where it says everything in moderation. true, except for that one Christmas Day and the mogan david wine. tremendous. you always were so welcoming when i'd come to visit your daughter and my friend kelly, starting in 1966. wildly eccentric, devoted to family, friends and ASU (remember when they went to the Rose Bowl?), i will never, ever, never, ever forget you. please don't forget us.

Mr. "D" will always be remembered as a very kind and caring teacher. When I was in first grade at Little Lafayette he would walk over from Lafayette and escort us to the cafeteria at Lafayette for lunch. He would always make us feel like we were part of the main school.
Mr. "D" was a wonderful coach and will be sorely missed. He was very instrumental in coaching my brother and teaching him the importance of sportsmanship. He was truly one who cared for the students and their welfare.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Mr. "D",
You were coach, teacher, friend and mentor to two generations of our family. There are no more John Waynes' and no more Mr. "D". A huge loss to the future generations. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
