Patrick C. "Pat" Duffy

Patrick "Pat" C. Duffy, 83, a resident of Boulder, died on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the HospiceCare Center in Louisville, CO. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22nd at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6739 S. Boulder Rd., Boulder, CO followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church Cemetery. A reception will follow the service at the church. Pat was born August 2, 1927 in Bayonne, NJ to Patrick & Ellen (Moran) Duffy. He attended Holy Family High School in Bayonne, NJ and Saint Peters College in Jersey City, NJ. In 1959, Pat married Mary Isabel Madden. He and his family moved to Boulder in 1976. Pat was a chemical salesman in New Jersey, Illinois and Colorado and didn't retire until 1998. He also served in the Army Reserves during the Korean War. Pat had two true passions in life: his family and tennis. He was a devoted husband and father who put others before himself. He played on a senior district championship tennis team that traveled to Las Vegas for the national championships in 2007. His particular love was the informal tennis matches at the South Boulder Rec courts on Saturdays. He will always be remembered for his friendly and social nature. He is survived by his wife, Mary Isabel Duffy, Boulder, CO; three sons, Pat (Bernice) of Broomfield, CO, John (Shari), Las Vegas, NV, and Dan (Michelle) of El Segundo, CA; brother, Dan (Marilyn), Bayonne, NJ; grandchildren, Shannon and Sean of Broomfield, CO and Liam, Las Vegas, NV. Pat was preceded in death by his father, Patrick in 1966, mother, Ellen in 1990 and son, Sean Michael in 1968.
