It was my pleasure to know Pat for many years in different circumstances, at W Van Baptist Church, preschool, work and as a friend. He had a determined but gentle and loving spirit.

For years I watched 'shepherd Pat' from the angel choir pen in Walk to Bethlehem. He patiently coached many other 'junior shepherds' through the years.

Pat will be fondly remembered and look forward to being reunited in heaven.

Pat and I shared car pooling and accompanied our daughters on outings. He was a kind gentle man that loved his children with his whole being. Love and light to his family. Amy's mom (Sarah)

"Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all."

I have two outstanding memories of Pat. One was the work he put into hosting girls' elementary school invitational basketball tournaments with his Cleveland Elementary team at Capilano College. But most of all, I remember how Pat was able to hold absolutely still - despite Parkinsons - while portraying a shepherd during the shepherds-angels scene during the Walk to Bethleham show at West Vancouver Baptist Church each Christmas. God bless Pat, a real Christian gentleman.

I'm so very sorry to hear about Pat's passing and offer my heartfelt sympathy to his mom, Liz, and his wife and family. Pat's philosophy about child development and education showed a tremendous integrity and concern for their well-being. His vision was a beacon of light in a world that commercializes children's books, toys and materials. He was a fine and courageous person, and will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched.

Thank you Pat, for being such an accommodating employer so many years ago when my children were very young, and for being such a determined and inspirational person.

So many memories of Pat - in High School - on the 1969 Choir Tour with he and sister Liz - being his Employee #1 at B.C. Playthings - introducing him to his love Hermila...he was surrounded by the love of his family and leaves an amazing legacy of perserverance and determination. A great man...he is now out of pain and will be forever remembered. I share the loss with his family. Much love to you all...Sue Trudell/Turner
