Baseball was the sport that many of us kids played in the late 1950's and early 1960's. I competed against Pat Harrington in Portland youth baseball in Belmont Little League. Pat was a right hand throwing and left hand hitting catcher. He had a technically sound hitting stance and swing. And mastered the ability to put the bat on the ball and put the ball into play. A very fine athlete. RIP Pat.

As a longtime friend of the Harrington family, I first met Pat at All Saints Grade School. Over the years since then, I have played golf and tennis with him and always enjoyed his company. I am terribly sorry to learn of his passing
