Patrick Luckett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2025.
Alan Luckett, beloved father, grandfather, brother, colleague, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on September 14, 2025, at the age of 69.

Alan's life was defined by faith, family, adventure, and creativity. Growing up as an Eagle Scout, he learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and a love of the outdoors. Those early lessons carried into a lifetime of adventure, whether fishing on the Texas coast, hiking at Reimers Ranch, or traveling to Alaska where he would fish for salmon and even once came face to face with a bear (which he reminded us of often).

Alan attended the University of Texas McCombs School of Business from 1976 to 1979, becoming a lifelong Longhorn and a devoted Texas football fan. He passed down the UT fight song to his children and proudly turned them into diehard Longhorn fans. Him and his girls got together most Saturdays to cheer them on together, a tradition that brought him great joy.

For the past 20 years, Alan worked at U.S. Money Reserve, where he built the company's self-directed IRA program from the ground up. More than a career, his work family at USMR became one of his greatest joys. He was deeply grateful for their friendship, loyalty, and love.

Alan was a man of deep faith, finding peace and strength in God. He shared that faith openly, including through a published book, and lived it out daily with kindness, humility, and love for others.

Outside of work, Alan was an artist at heart. He was a talented musician who could pick up a guitar or sit down at a piano with ease, he also painted in his spare time, and loved to work on his art of cooking.

Above all, Alan was most proud of being a father and grandfather. He found joy in the simple, silly traditions that made family memories special. Every Thanksgiving, he made the turkey "dance," and every Christmas, he gave each grandchild a new snow globe. His love, humor, and warmth will live on through his family.

Alan is survived by his sister, Kathy, his children Alexa, Taylor, Rachel, Rebekah, and Bob, his grandchildren Kadah, Tuscany, Maverick, Ronan, Penelope, and Will and his sons-in-law, Riley and Alex.

Alan's legacy will be remembered through his faith, his creativity, his love of the outdoors, and most of all, through the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life honoring Alan will be held at County Line on the Lake, 5204 Ranch to Market Road 2222, Austin, TX, on September 21st at 5:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in remembering and celebrating his life.
