San Diego - Patrick Joseph Mrotek (age 66), San Diego, CA; previously of Montgomery, AL; only son of Mary Helen (Howard) and Leonard John Mrotek; devoted father to his beloved daughter, Kennis Grace Mrotek. Patrick was born and raised in Montgomery, AL. He attended Our Lady Queen of Mercy elementary school and Montgomery Catholic High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University at Montgomery. He then attended the prestigious Stanford University Graduate School of Business and earned his MBA. Upon graduating, he lived first in San Francisco and then Coronado and San Diego. He initially worked for Bain Consulting and then founded Quattro Consulting, Inc., with his classmate from Stanford, Ann Colister. Their company specializes in business strategies for the medical device industry, advising CEOs of companies ranging from start-ups to multibillion dollar multinationals. Patrick had a passion for life, traveling and spirituality. His travels included extended stays in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He researched numerous religions and attended the Chicago Theological Seminary. He had a great sense of humor as well as talent, insight, compassion and generosity! Patrick is survived by his daughter Kennis Grace, his beloved sister, Kathleen (Mrotek) Kneeland and his cherished Godchildren: niece Katherine (Kneeland) Girard, nephew Patrick Kneeland, grand-niece Teagan Kneeland, Aria Rodli, and Linde Spear. He is also survived by family members Kristin (Collazuol) Kneeland, Ryan Girard, Kara and Kevin Kneeland, and Ethan Girard. Patrick's passing is mourned by his companion and the mother of Kennis Grace, Kathleen Titano and her family, Jack, Jackie and Kelly Titano and their friends Vicki King, Gary Fleck and Judy Walker. Patrick is also deeply missed by his dear friends including Norman Azar, David Spear, Ann Colister and Bernard Kneeland. A Memorial Gathering will be held to honor Patrick on November 24 at The Mill Restaurant in Roswell, GA, beginning at 1 p.m. Anyone who was a friend of Patrick is welcome. I met Patrick in 1979, and we have kept in touch since then. He was an amazing person! His thoughtfulness, his generosity and his desire to make the world a better place will never be forgotten by those who loved him dearly. My condolences are with his family.

I lived in Coronado, CA, from 2007-2013 and knew Patrick through mutual friends. I would see Patrick at special occasions and he was always upbeat and gracious. I was impressed at how family-oriented he was as well as how accomplished he was. I also admired his impressive travels around the country and the world. Patrick left a very big footprint. My deepest sympathies to his loved ones.
