Patrick Murphy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1, 2024.
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, Patrick Edward Murphy passed away at Providence St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, WA. Pat courageously battled severe pneumonia and other health complications for 6 weeks while he was there and was only 39 years old at the time of his unfortunate passing. Born August 14th, 1984, to Donald Murphy and the late Wanda Murphy of Morton and Glenoma, Washington. Pat was born, raised, lived, and played in Lewis County Washington his whole life. Pat graduated from White Pass High School in 2003 where he enjoyed being on the wrestling team and playing on the Panthers football team for four years. Pat made lifelong friends there including Blaine, James and Matt Murphy, no blood relation but brothers nonetheless, and Matts wife Kalah Murphy. Matt, James, Pat, and his other friends did and enjoyed what most boys from Lewis County did in those days, and probably these days too, which was listen to good music as loud as possible, drive around in their trucks, shoot guns for fun, chase girls, and drink on occasion, wink wink. Pat, like all his siblings, was an avid heavy metal, bang your head, hard rock fan. He enjoyed listening to Metallica, Korn, FFDP, Avenge Sevenfold, and many others. He also to my dismay, just kidding Pat, liked some country and other types of music as well. Rock on my brother.

Pat worked hard and played hard in his short adult life. He worked for his dad on their rental properties in Morton and Glenoma often. He was a certified welder and worked as one in North Dakota during the height of the oil fracking boom. Pats most recent job was at National Frozen Foods in Chehalis, WA, as a forklift operator. But Pat was maybe best known for the great job he did of being a caretaker of his friends, their families, his sister Rachael, his dad, and anybody else who needed assistance. He was a big strong guy, who drove a big truck, who had big life responsibilities, and a big kind heart. He will leave a big hole in this world and in many people's hearts. Pat was the youngest of five children and is survived by his father Donald Murphy, stepmother Carol Murphy, sisters Rachael Murphy and Dawn Marzolf, and brothers Marty Murphy and Don Murphy. He was also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pat was preceded in the unfortunate and accidental death of his mother Wanda Murphy.

A celebration of life will be hosted by Pat's best friends, who were with him until his last breath, Matt, and Kalah Murphy. And their children who refer to Pat as Uncle Pat. We will be, and I'm sure Pat was, forever grateful for this family because of the kindness, compassion, and friendship they gave our little brother from the day they met. They are the epitome of what it means to be a friend to someone in this world. It will be held on Sunday February 18th at 1 pm in the gymnasium of White Pass High School. 516 Silverbrook Rd. Randle, WA 98377. You can text or call Kalah at 360-790-2942 with any questions.

Seriously, another year has gone by in a flash. I'm just sitting here watching football thinking about watching it with you in the hospital. I was giving you the play by play because you weren't able to watch. Well the seahawks are at it again. In the playoffs with a good chance of getting to the superbowl. Put in a good word with the big guy if you can. It would do my heart good to have something to cheer about. Anyway my brother, I love you and miss you and wish you were here eating chicken wings and pizza with me.
You biggest brother, Donnie.

I can't believe it's a year ago already that you flipped me off for saying I had a big ol cheeseburger for you. Sorry you had to have slop through a hose lol. Not a very fitting last meal for a guy who enjoyed food as much as you did. Well I have to tell you I had another cheeseburger 2 days ago and it was delicious, onions and all. Cheers to you and your memories little brother. I love and miss you! Rest easy.

My favorite memory of u was when u were playing football in grade school and were up against a kid who at least twice your size. U over to where we were sitting and said that kid must flunked 3 times so he could be on their team. RIP son.

A favorite memory of young Pat, was of him wanting to hold his niece when she was a new born. He climbed up in Wanda's chair with his back all the way back his feet didn't even peek over the end of the seat cushion. He held her with this huge smile on his face saying how tiny she was. I Love you Little Brother and miss you so much.
