My sincere condolences. He was my chief at the Illiana VA for almost 6 years, until I left to work in TX last October. Funny with a great sense of humor. He was a great man to work with and to serve under. My fondest memory of him was this one time in surgery, I tried to remove a screw but OR did not have the proper screw driver for me to do so. I struggled for awhile, next thing I knew, he came in all scrubbed, used a plier looking thing and within minutes the screw came out intact. Amazing. He was really humble about it too when I tried to give him credit. He shall be greatly missed.

Always have a one liner ready. I will always remembered that one time in surgery, I had to remove a screw but OR did not have the proper screw driver nor the universal kit to remove it. We struggled for awhile, next thing I knew, he came in all scrubbed. Used a plier looking thing and within minutes, the screw was removed. He was really humble about it too, took little credit for it, and just left the OR. He will be greatly missed.
