What a lovely, kind human Dr O'Connell was.
Truly one of a kind & you could tell he genuinely cared about all his patients.
I remember when he first came to Warrengate, so softly spoken with his Irish accent.
He was our family doctor when I was a teenager, a mother & finally a grandmother.
I'm so very sad that he didn't get to enjoy his retirement & the family time, he so deserved.
He certainly was one of the rare ones.
Much love to his family ❤

I will never forget, when I was a child he sent me to hospital with possible appendicitis. Turns out it was bad and I had it removed that night. He saved my life sending me to hospital. Thank you for being an amazing doctor. R.I.P Dr. O'Connell.

He was our family GP when I was a kid, my nan always had a laugh with him. I remember him being straight to the point, always pushing me to fight through my mental struggles.

I am so sad to read about this. I had spoken to him on his last day at Warrengate and he was so excited for his retirement. Dr O'Connell was the kindest GP I have ever come across. My thoughts are with his family. I pray that the pain gets easier with time xx

Dr O Connell had been my GP for the last 30yrs my husband and I were devastated when he retired. He was the only Dr my husband would see, but we are even more devastated he has gone too soon to enjoy his retirement he was a great doctor and gentleman and would give you as much time as needed when you had a problem he will be sadly missed by all.
