Margaret and I first got to know Pat when he came to Simcoe when we were children to visit his aunt and uncle. He were always amazed when he sat down at the piano and played all our aunt's favourites. I have kept in touch with him since then and we are truly sorry to hear of his passing. Our prayers go out to the family. Raymond Canon and Margaret Canon Lothian (cousins)

Margaret and I first remember Pat when we were children and he used to come to Simcoe to visit relatives. We admired his ability to sit down at the piano and play any of our aunt's favourites. I have kept in touch with him since then and we are truly sorry to hear of his passing. Our prayers go out to the family

I am very sad, as not only did I lose my favourite Uncle, I also lost the last bearer of this wonderful family name O'Heron. The only other family member who had that surname O'Heron was my brother and he died at the age of 20 in 1964.
I spent many happy hours with Uncle Pat, Aunt Pauline and my cousins Kathy and Eleanor.
Here is a poem that I wrote about him. I now publish my poems and books in the O'Heron name (my maiden name) to preseve this name as best I can. A book of my poetry is now in the Canadian National Library. This poem is my original unpublished poem.
PATRICK O'HERON MAN OF MANY GIFTS
He gave us the gift of freedom
as an airman first class
radio operator in World War 11 planes
He gave us the gift of enterprise
as proprietor of several businesses
using his artistic talents to create
pleasing displays and endearing his clients
with his pleasing manner
He gave us the gift of music
even though his hearing was greatly damaged
from exploding bombs during the war
he played piano for all even into his elder years
He gave us the gift of laughter
using his Irish sense of humour
to help us view
the lighter side of life
He gave us the gift of art
using his creative talents to
paint pictures in mixed media
many of which he just gave away
He gave us the gift of family love
loving his family and in turn
showing us by example
to love our families too
He gave us the gift of a generous spirit
giving of himself completely and fully
to his family and friends
the most precious gift of all

To the Family of Pat,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I was a girl that lived near your father and grandfather. He was truly a wonderful man along with his late wife. What I remember the most about him is his kind heart and words of wisdom that he spoke and most all the halloween visits to his place while growing up. The last time I seen Pat he was still active at Kingsville Court. I will pray for you and your family. But I will also treasure the memories of a wonderful man. May he rest at peace.
